We have been trying a variety of methods to introduce students in NYC to the students in Bejaia. In the Video Intro Interviews, students prepared questions and practiced the interviews before recording.
They discuss a variety of topics, and are eager to share about their lives with Bejaia students.
On this first post of Video Intro-Interviews, Edwin and Pablo take turns interviewing each other. Edwin shares some history about the origins of names of some Latin-American countries. And Pablo tells us about meeting his wife in an English class at Riis Settlement.
The students are very concerned about the clarity of the recordings. Please let us know if you have difficulty hearing or understanding the audio.

Hello Pablo...!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very good job and I love the video so much. It is so great to learn something about your country. I encourage to carry on this way....your very smart and wise. I like the way you talk...you seem very relaxed and natural.
I want to as one question: How would it difficult to learn English? Could you please tell me the problems that you face about it?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Hakim, Bejaia, Algeria
Hello Edwin,
ReplyDeleteYou speak so well about history! I love to learn about language history.
I didn't know that you were an accountant. Did you know that Arturo was an accountant too?
What do you like about culture in New York City? When you have free time, what kind of culture do you like to experience? There is SO much to do in NYC (the theater, museums of every kind, music, and food), but I never have enough time to do everything I want!

Hello Pablo,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Hakim, you do sound so natural. It is very pleasant to listen to you speak.
You were an architect, business owner, AND a wrestler?!? Is there anything you can't do?
