Hey Maria,
ReplyDeleteThis post is great! I'm from the United States, and honestly, I didn't know the history of this holiday. Thank you so much for teaching me something new!
Both of my grandfathers were in World War II. My dad's father, Bill, was a paratrooper. My mom's father, Joe, was a Sargent, and operated a tank. My brother-in-law, Max, was in Iraq. He worked primarily in construction, operating large cranes.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to remember the people in my family who served in the military!
-Eric, NYC
