My Family by Belkis

Belkis is beginning English. And this is her first writing in English!

Music Credit:
I made the music using the Garage Band application for iPhone. All of the instruments are electronic. I really like to learn about new programs. In the future, I want the students to try making music for their videos. For now, we will probably continue to borrow music from FreeMusicArchive.org, because I can't make music fast enough for all the new videos!

Awilda's Narrated Picture Story

Being on time can be difficult. Being on time when when you have young children---that seems impossible!

In her video, Awilda talks about her daily routines. She made her routines personal by talking about the difficulty of morning routines with young children. Awilda's performance in this video is wonderful. I can hear how stressful morning routines can be with young children!

Elizabeth's Narrated Picture Story

Let's go to Elizabeth's house!

In Elizabeth's story, she shows us her apartment in New York City, in great detail and vibrant colors.

Elizabeth is an artist, and has made many beautiful illustrations of typical homes in Dominican Republic. I really hope that she will share some of those illustrations here!

One Day in My House: Maria's Narrated Picture Story

When I asked Maria what she enjoyed about the project, she said: the drawing. She says: it was difficult for me.

However, it is clear that Maria put a lot of time and effort in her pictures. She used color and detail to improve the pictures.

And she rehearsed her speaking many times.

She says that her family is small. But we can see there is a lot of love!

Ismoil's Narrated Picture Story

When Ismoil started class, he only knew a few words of English. But that has never stopped him from speaking with students in class, and sharing beautiful stories about his life.

He taught the class some Uzbek expressions:

English                              Uzbek
 Good morning                         Hayrli tong
 Good afternoon                       Hayrli kun

Ismoil is so friendly, we practiced the pronunciation of smile and Ismoil together!

In this video, Ismoil talks about the biggest moments of his life, and his favorite traditions.
